THE FIRST TRANSATLANTIC SLOW-SCAN TRANSMISSION OF IMAGES BETWEEN FRANCE AND THE UNITED STATES VIA TELEPHONE

Image exchange via slow-scan in January 1981 between the Center for Advanced Visual Studies at MIT in Boston and the American Center for Artists in Paris. At the invitation of Don Foresta, founder of the Center for Media Art at the American center, Scott MacLeay was responsible for the photographic reproduction of transmitted images on the Paris team. Please note that the the image and sound quality is relatively mediocre due to the poor condition of the copy from which this copy was made.
